Obsession is my idea of a great bow, good speed, quiet, accurate, comfortable cams ( wrecked shoulders will tell you what's nice and what's not!) and easy to let down from full draw, every single bow made currently is smooth so using that word to describe a bow simply shows no knowledge of most bows, because the same can be said of every one, but easy drawing leaves a lot of bows out, but not obsession. The Obsession cam is bigger than the Eclipse cam so the string and cables on the eclipse are too short. Should be fairly simple, both are binary cam design for parallel limbs. Probably the best feeling and shooting bows i have ever had and that is something over 50 bows from everyone but mathews ( shot plenty just didn't like them), over the years i owned hoyts, martins, bowtech, diamond (both post and pre bowtech models) whisper creek, high country, pearson, pse, darton,evolution, bear, apa, archery research, winchester and alien, and probably a couple others i can not even recall right now. Ive got a 2011 New Breed eclipse and some Obsession Defcon 6 cams I want to put on it. They are great bows and i currently own a defcon 6, and i have had several different models and have shot most everything they made up until hurricane harvey destroyed my archery shop and put me out of business, For what I sold the Triax for I picked both of these up and still pocketed $$$. I’ll have my hands on the FX6 early next week. They look, feel, shoot and do anything just as good if not better than the others.
So why don’t I see them mentioned much on here? Just from my 2 days shooting and comparing I think they are underrated. I can also hold at full draw forever compared to the Triax. Evolution grip is great, draw cycle smooth, quiet, and accurate. Triax was great and all but grip and weight I didn’t care for. Haven’t shot the FX6 yet but very similar specs to Evolution however faster and 90% letoff. If I didn’t know the Evolution was 5 yrs old I would have thought it was a current released bow. Recently listed again so I purchased to see how it was.Ģ days later I now have an 2014 Obsession Evolution and a 2019 Obsession FX6. Started looking and found a Obsession Evolution that I had eyes on back in the summer when it was listed here but wasnt fast enough before it was snatched up. I also thought why have it when I can do the same thing with a cheaper bow. I killed 2 deer with it and couldn’t justify owning a bow that was more expensive than any gun I had.
